Biological Optical Microscopy Platform

Overview of Services

The Biological Optical Microscopy Platform (BOMP) makes state-of-the art fluorescence microscopy equipment available to the students and staff of the University of Melbourne, as well as the wider community.

We provide support to a number of applications including confocal microscopy, live cell imaging, high-content screening, fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy, 2-photon microscopy, lightsheet microscopy, super-resolution microscopy and image analysis.


Instrument training

Consultation/training on image analysis

Training workshops on advanced microscopy techniques and image analysis

• Consultation on experimental design, sample preparation, sample imaging (email to us)

• Collaboration on high-end techniques including high-content screening, fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM), lightsheet microscopy, super-resolution microscopy & image analysis (email to us)


Access to our Platform Service

New users will need to go through a registration and training process to gain access to BOMP equiptment.
