Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology – Technical Services

Overview

The Eng & IT Workshop has been an indispensible part of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology since 1938. The team pride themselves in providing high-quality workmanship and services to the staff and students from a variety of disciplines at the University of Melbourne and members of external reserach institutions. The facility supports a wide range of services and have expertise in handling a broad spectrum of equipments.

Services Include

  • Consultation

Our skilled staff with years of experience are available to provide the best possible design solutions for your project, be it a research project or a final year project. Consult our team with your design requirements and get the best advise that will materialise your designs.

  • Manufacturing

We deliver high precision manufacturing capabilities and also provide you with the tools to guide you through the manufacturing processes.

  • Repair

Faulty or broken equipment? Restore them back to working condition with the advice and expertise of our workshop staff.

  • Cutting (Band Saw, Cold Saw, CNC Router)
  • Laser Cutter (Kern, Epilog, Trotec)
  • Machining (Lathe - Master, Student, Gedee Weilder; Mill - Manford, Supermax)
