The Fluid Dynamics, Energy and Propulsion (FDEP) Cluster provides specialist laboratory facilities, technical expertise, and operational support for teaching, research and industry engagement within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) at the University of Melbourne.
Our laboratories support a broad range of activities in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, thermodynamics, propulsion systems, and experimental engineering. The FDEP Cluster works closely with academics, researchers, students and external collaborators to deliver safe, reliable and high-quality laboratory services.
Our facilities include a range of specialised research and teaching equipment, including wind tunnels, towing tanks, laser-based flow diagnostics, thermal systems, and advanced experimental instrumentation.
